【KINO FLO】 |
 |
Kino Flo® has always taken its cue
for creativity and problem solving
from our friends and colleagues
who work behind the camera.
The camera may have changed
over the years, going from film and
analog video-based systems to digital
and hi-def state-of-the-art equipment,
but the vision remains the same.

The challenges of blocking,
lighting and shooting a scene
continue to inspire Kino Flo to
expand and retool its offerings
of award-winning lighting
products—from the gafferfriendly
lightweight versatility
of cool 4Banks to the
simple sophistication of our
Kamio® ring lights favored
by cinematographers.
We see the intense
collaborative moviemaking
process that goes into
ginning out blockbusters
like King Kong, The Matrix,
Titanic, and others. We also
have a front row seat on all
the commercial shoots guided
by the steady hand of master
photographers, and the quiet
suffering of independent and
student filmmakers shooting
on a shoestring budget.
Kino Flo has always
enjoyed being part of the
production process.
But there’s no magic wand
to wave. Success comes from
hard work.
Kino Flo started small, just
a couple of crew guys working
out of a small industrial space
in Pacoima, CA, in the early
1980s, folding and shaping
paper fixtures by hand like
origami. Over time the paper
fixtures evolved to sturdy
polypropylene modular systems
and metal studio fixtures.
To meet the growing technical
demands of production,
Kino Flo added more control
systems, including DMX
dimming and switching. We
even took the unprecedented
leap into lamp design, to ensure
a consistent True Match® color
quality that meets the artistic
demands of imaging pros.
Take some time to look
through our new catalog where
you’ll find all the fresh styles
of familiar lights such as the
4Bank, Double and Single
systems (pages 12-15), as well
as our new and exciting studio
luminaires like the ParaBeam®,
ParaZip® and VistaBeam®
(pages 24-26). We’ve also
added a line of LED color
changers, the Koloris® systems
(page 33), especially suited
for feature film and commercial
production special effects
lighting.
We would like to invite
you to visit our website at
www.kinoflo.com, or if you’re
in the neighborhood, drop by
to see our new headquarters in
Burbank, CA. We’d be happy
to show you around!
